imgLeuven, Belgium, be careful to create people with disorders of the heart in the face of congestion. The research found that traffic pollution can be more harmful than cocaine.

A new study conducted Hasselt University and Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, found that the fumes of motor vehicles is eight times more trigger heart attacks rather than sucking cocaine.

According to the report Lancetjournal, if a patient heart disease using cocaine, his chance of a heart attack increased 26 fold. But if he is exposed to the smoke of heavy traffic, his chance increased by five percent of the 26 times.

Based on the data in the United Kingdom, where there are cases of heart attacks each year, approximately 124000 asap traffic can trigger heart attacks, while cocaine 9200 around 1100, like the Telegraph, reported by Friday (25/2/2011).

This conclusion was made by scientists from Hasselt University and Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, after reviewing 36 studies.

"Improvement of the air we breathe is the target of highly relevant to reduce the incidence of this disease (heart) in the general population," explained Dr. Tim Nawrot from the Centre for Environmental Sciences, Hasselt University.

Researchers calculate the cocaine charge of 0.9 percent of all heart attacks, while pollution traffic accounted for 7.4 per cent.

Another important risk is less physical activity (6.3 percent), drink alcohol or coffee (each 5 per cent), emotions (3.1 percent), overeating (2.7 percent) and sexual activity (2.2 percent).

Previous research also found that small particles of smoke vehicles (called particulate) can worsen the hardening of blood vessels, which are the main symptoms of heart disease.
